FactCheck.org : This organization checks the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews and news releases.
Snopes.com : This highly regarded rumor analyzing site has been researching rumors since 1995.
Politifact.com : PolitiFact staffers research statements and rate their accuracy on the Truth-O-Meter, from True to False. The most ridiculous falsehoods get the lowest rating, Pants on Fire.
SciCheck : Focuses exclusively on false and misleading scientific claims that are made by partisans to influence public policy.
AllSides : Unlike regular news services, AllSides exposes bias and provides multiple angles on the same story so you can quickly get the full picture, not just one slant.
OpenSecrets : From the nonpartisan, independent and nonprofit, the Center for Responsive Politics, the nation's premier research group tracking money in U.S. politics and its effect on elections and public policy.
Washington Post Fact Checker : Seeks to verify the statements of political figures regarding issues of great importance, be they national, international or local.
