National Library Week, a national event sponsored by the American Library Association, will be celebrated from Sunday, April 6th to Saturday, April 12th. This year’s theme is Drawn to the Library! Millions of people across the country visit their libraries every week. What draws them in? Everything. Including our current new book selections!
Tuesday, April 8th is National Library Workers Day. This day is dedicated to recognizing the valuable contributions of library staff, users, and administrators. Be sure to show the ACC Library staff how much you appreciate them!
Wednesday the Library will host a Music and Mindfulness session at noon. No experience needed. Just bring yourself, and be ready to experience the calming effects of focusing on your breathing while listening to calming music.
Thursday, April 10th, from 10 AM to 12 PM, in the Library, we will celebrate National Library Week and National Poetry Month by hosting Poetry Fox. Poetry Fox is a typewriter-wielding fox who will create a personalized poem for you using just ONE word. Give him a word, and he’ll type up a unique poem in return!
Throughout the week, students, faculty, and staff are invited to draw, write, and get creative about what the library means to them on provided forms. For online students, we’ll provide a downloadable "Drawn to the Library" PDF to create with and then return via scan or photo via the library's email address: lrc@alamancecc.edu. There will be a prize drawing for entries.
Please join us to celebrate YOUR Library!
