Course description:
This course traces the development of the cultural, intellectual, and political founda-tions of western civilization. Topics include the civilizations of the Near East, the classical Greek and Hellenistic eras, the Roman world, Judaism, and Christianity. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socio-economic, and cultural developments in the ancient world.
